The story of this novel is about “Dr. Montag” who is always looking for the traces of demons and the effects of ghosts. The other three, named Theodore, his assistant, Alno, a mysterious and seemingly fraudulent woman, and Luke, the heir to the Hill House, live with the doctor in a strange hill house. At the beginning of their stay, it seems very simple and normal, but very soon the strange forces of Hill House reveal themselves and affect them all.

Shirley Jackson (1965-1916) is a well-known American author best known for her work in the horror and mystery genres. During his two decades of writing, he wrote six novels, two biographies, and two hundred short stories.

During his literary career, Jackson won numerous awards, including (5 times) Best American Short Stories, O. Henry Prize Stories, and Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award, and was nominated for a prestigious National Book Award
